As part of its international development, SKYTECH announces the acquisition of an industrial site in Pozzaglio ed Uniti, Italy, to set up its production of premium recycled plastics

 Le Val d’Hazey, November 2, 2022 – A few months after announcing the opening of the firm’s Italian subsidiary* and the inauguration of its new French production site at Le Val d’hazer, SKYTECH, the French greentech specializing in the production of premium recycled resins for industrial applications and plastics manufacturers, announces the acquisition of an industrial site in the Lombardy town of Pozzaglio ed Uniti, intended to house its future production facility in Italy. 

This site, located near the city of Cremona in Lombardy , has a total surface area. of 13 hectares (32 acres), including 29,000 square meters (312,000 sq. ft) of buildings that will be completely modernized to accommodate the various production lines for premium recycled plastics. The works will start as soon as SKYTECH has obtained the AIA (Autorizzazione Integrata Ambientale) certification from the Italian authorities, the Italian equivalent of the French ICPE (Installations Classées Protection de l’Environnement) classification. SKYTECH will recruit locally more than 70 employees over the next two years for industrial and support functions. The company’s ambition is to start production at this new site before the end of 2023 to reach a production capacity of more than 50,000 tons in 2025.
SKYTECH plans to invest around 20 million euros with the support of its shareholder Xerys Invest to transform and modernize the production site. SKYTECH will recruit locally more than 70 employees over the next two years for industrial and support functions. The company’s ambition is to start production at this new site before the end of 2023 to reach a production capacity of more than 50,000 tons in 2025. “We are very pleased to announce the acquisition of this new site, which will enable us to deploy industrial capacities outside France and accelerate our international development, in line with our ambitions and our roadmap. Our project has been very well received by the municipality and we are delighted to be able to start refurbishment work on the site as soon as possible,” says Christophe Lamboeuf, SKYTECH’s CEO. *The creation of SKYTECH’s Italian subsidiary in April 2022, officially announced in early July 2022, is headed by Giovanni Reggio, a chemical engineer from Milan Polytechnic who has extensive experience in the chemicals industry and was previously Head of Operations for a production site at Dow Chemical.
